The Secret to Marketing Your House Successfully In Any Market
It seems like it's always the same with selling a house and getting a haircut, once we decide it's time, then we want it done yesterday! Well, it's a whole lot easier to get a haircut on short notice than it is to get a house sold on short notice. Everybody knows that. They have a difficult job and most of them do a good job, but I hesitate to suggest that a prospective seller call a particular agent unless I know that agent personally. It's a deeper answer, and it's so deep that most people don't want to go there. The real answer is, "Find the buyer yourself."
That's right, that's what I tell homeowners who are in a big hurry to sell a house quickly. And what I mean when I say that short, powerful sentence that nobody wants to hear is that you are the one who knows the house best, and you know why other people might want to buy it, so get on with the job of finding those people. This is where the rubber meets the road for you as a homeowner or for the agent you may decide to hire to sell your home. The key to selling a house quickly is to think really hard about who might want the house and go ask those people if they would like to buy it now.
Real estate agents do not really have an advantage over the homeowner in this respect. Someone who has owned a house in a certain neighborhood for a while knows people living in the area and knows where people in the area shop and hang out. Those are the best people to consider, and (here's the biggest secret of this whole article) those are the people whose friends may want to move to their neighborhood. You know your neighbors and you know where they congregate, so go talk to them and ask them if they know anyone who might want to move into the neighborhood.
That's the best suggestion I can make to answer the question, "How do I sell my house quickly? " Go talk to your neighbors and put up signs in the neighborhood stores and do it now!
