How to Get the Perfect Crocs Sizing

by Lisa Jamieson

Crocs sold over 6 million pairs in 2006. No one really expected the shoes to be this big except well, maybe Crocs themselves. After all, they made it a point to release new designs to match the needs of consumers. They also partnered with some of the most successful brands to come out with special edition Crocs and Jibbitz.
But the success of Crocs is largely attributed to its unparalleled comfort. They are probably one of the most affordable yet comfortable shoes in the casual footwear market. To make sure that you experience the legendary comfort of Crocs footwear, make sure you get the right size. Crocs are designed to fit loosely. Getting shoes that are tight will diminish the comfort of your shoes and will go against your intention of wearing Crocs for its comfort.
If you are buying online, make sure to print the Crocs sizing chart available from the Crocs website. Place the sizing chart on the floor and step on it with your heel on the designated line. There are lines that will tell you what size you should get based on where your toes will fall. Remember that your Crocs should fit loosely so do not insist on getting a size smaller because you think it will look better on you.
When you are buying from the stores, try on the shoes. Your toes should not touch the front of the shoes. There should be about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch of space between your toes and the front of the shoes. By having ample space in front, you can even choose to wear your Crocs with socks. Once you have tried on the shoes, make sure there is space all around your feet, even at the heels. The straps shouldn't fit snuggly and should not push your feet to the front. Make sure you can put a finger between your heel and the heel strap. For those who will use the Crocs for outdoor adventures, get the Off Road model because the heel straps of this design are removable and adjustable. If you find that your Crocs are already the perfect fit but the straps are too short, just pull on the straps lightly until they are the right length for you. You can do this a couple of times until the straps are perfectly adjusted. The shoes and the straps have "memory" and will mold to you feet.
Make sure that the shoes do not pinch you in any way. Even if you get the more feminine designs such as the Prima Crocs, the Sassari Crocs and the new design Alice, do not get shoes that fit too snuggly.
Getting the right size is essential in experiencing the comfort of Crocs footwear. After you buy your first pair, you will find yourself wanting to get more pairs!
