Ayurvedic treatment for dandruff
The term dandruff generally refers to the condition of the skin where in shiny, silvery scales separate from the scalp and collect amidst the hair. The condition can become troublesome when the skin gets infected. The exact cause of dandruff, also known as scurf or Pityriasis simplex capillitii is unknown.
Simple dry skin — the kind you get during winter when the air is cold and rooms are overheated — is the most common cause of itchy, flaking dandruff. People with dry skin or sensitive to yeast, who do not shampoo regularly or use of alkali soaps or shampoo get dandruff easily.
Some other conditions like oily skin (seborrehic dermatitis), Psoriasis, Eczema and contact dermatitis (allergy to hair care products) can lead to severely effecting dandruff. According to Ayurveda the health of skin is maintained by healthy RAS and RAKT dhatu, proper nutrition and digestion helps to have nice skin and hairs.
