Take Advantage Of Green Product Packaging

As a businessman have you ever asked yourself how much of the garbage that is produced annually is due to product packaging? If you have, then probably you already know that it is a very large portion of it. They come in all shapes, colors, sizes and materials; colorful or dull, hard or soft, light or heavy. Packages are as diverse as you could imagine. Sadly, most of them have little to no use and are discarded almost immediately, adding more garbage to the already problematic pollution.
Recycling is a very viable option for plastic, glass and metal residues. However, it is not a solution for the increasing production of polluting packages. Some companies have opted to design new ways of packaging, reducing the amount of polluting materials and creating new, green alternatives for today's most common packages. They are trying to gradually replace them. One of these materials is the not so new molded pulp.
You might know this material as 'egg carton material' which is a very cheap and one hundred percent recycled substance. It is made from newsprint and has a very wide manipulation range which allows it to be shaped into a myriad of forms and sizes. You can even add some color if you wish. Molded pulp is a very desirable option if you are considering going 'green'. It has great vibration and shock resistance properties. In addition, when using it you can be assured that three months later, if disposed of it will biodegrade completely. On the other hand, plastic takes almost five hundred years to fully disintegrate. The National Environment Agency states that paper and cardboard is recycled at a rate that is four times as much as plastics.
If you have not considered using green product packaging, now would be a good time to do it, not only because you would be helping the planet, but because many countries have begun passing laws that will increase taxes for those companies that use foam and other plastic-related materials for packaging. Using molded pulp will not only save you from unnecessary taxes, it will also reduce your freight and storage costs as well as minimizing the time it takes to package your products.
The usage of molded pulp for interior packaging of electronic devices is very recent, mainly because the newest software has allowed computer-controlled molding systems the flexibility to produce more detailed packages in faster runs. Many companies produce this kind of packaging. They are young, fresh state of the art businesses with an eco-friendly view of packaging.
Last but not least, most of the companies that offer molded pulp packaging production have the service of designing your own custom package so that your product will be intact when it reaches its destination. It would take approximately eighteen weeks to get your molded pulp packaged products up and running with their own custom made casing. However, this packaging might not be suitable for some products that require special handling such as pharmaceuticals. It is always good to know that your product is safe, but it is better when you know that you are also helping the planet with the product packaging that you are using.
