Las Vegas Airplane Tours - Flying to the Grand Canyon
Summer vacation time is here once again. One way you can make it one to remember, is by choosing to take a Grand Canyon helicopter or airplane tour. It's a busy time of year, so you'll want to get in early, and there are a few tips and tricks to ensure discounts for the best prices.
There are two departure points for Grand Canyon aerial tours: the Vegas metro area and Tusayan in Arizona. Vegas tours will take you out to the West Rim, while Arizona tours start from the South Rim of the National Park.
Air Tours From Las Vegas
There are flyover and landing tours available from Las Vegas. During the flight to the canyon, you'll get to see several interesting sights such as the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.
Landing tours are truly something special. Some things you may want to include in your tour are a descent to the canyon floor where you can enjoy a champagne picnic and boat tour along the Colorado River or tickets to the Skywalk on top of the rim. You can create the tour package you like best, so you're sure to find a tour that matches your budget and interests.
So if you want to take one of these fun landing tours to the Grand Canyon, you'll have to go to the West Rim because landing tours are prohibited at the South Rim.
Tusayan Grand Canyon Flights
The aerial tours of the South Rim are fantastic, and that makes up for the fact you can't land in that part of the canyon.
There are two air tours from which to choose at the South Rim of the Canyon. The first is a 30 minute tour that will take you up to the North Rim and back, and then there's an even more impressive 50 minute tour that takes you to the North Rim, and all the way out to the eastern boundary of the park. The 50-minute tour flies over 3/4 of the Grand Canyon National Park.
You can also tour the South Rim by ground if you add on a jeep tour to your package. From the ground, you'll witness up close and personal all the Canyon has to offer, which is enhanced further by an incredible helicopter ride.
There are plane tours from the South Rim too. They fly along the same flight path as the helicopter tours, but they just fly at higher altitudes. The airplane tours are more affordable, so if a helicopter tour stretches your budget too much, taking an airplane tour is a great alternative.
Getting Good Deals On Grand Canyon Flights
There's one sure way to guarantee the best ticket prices and early bird discounts, and that is to book online. If you buy your tour at least two weeks ahead of time, you'll avoid high last-minute prices, so be sure to book your Grand Canyon tour at the same time you make your other travel arrangements. If you purchase your tour on the Internet, you'll get in front of some of the best specials and discounts.
Buying your tour early also ensures you'll get to pick the tour date you want. All of the Grand Canyon helicopter tours, and even the airplane tours are hugely popular. By buying your tour in advance, you avoid the disappointment of arriving at the South Rim or Las Vegas only to find out that they are sold out.
Plan Your Tour Now
Start planning your trip now, before summer is gone. Remember, the tours depart from Arizona and Vegas, so it's easy to work one into your vacation no matter what direction you're traveling from. Book online, and book early, you'll get the best prices and your preferred schedules.
The Grand Canyon is an amazing place to visit and the best way to enjoy your experience is by taking an air tour of the West or South Rim. I hope you'll get to see it all soon.
