Why Your eBook Resale Right Needs URL Tracking

by Will Dean

Let’s say you have taken the first steps to build your eBook resale right website and have slaved over many dedicated hours to perfect it. You think, everyone will be crazy not to find it “eye appealing” and there’s no way your products won’t sell. Many products can sell themselves, but this where advertising jumps in.

You advertise by placing links from places such as forums, blogs, pay advertisements, affiliates, etc. The more you get your name out, the better your results, but how do you know that your advertising is at it’s peak proficiency? A simple counter on the bottom of the page is not going to give us the data we need, so we need to borrow some marketing data analysis skills. If you’re going to sell yourself as a professional, may as well act like one too.

What you do is use URL trackers to record the performance of your URL. If you’re using an autoresponder, this is the URL link you include for prospects to click – same with links from article submission sites, blogs, and other forms of advertisements that link back to your eBook resale right website.

URL trackers are useful because they track the number of people that visit your sales page and they show you which websites they’ve been clicked from. Let’s take the example again about the autoresponder and pretend that you have a list of people that have signed up to your newsletters. You hold different promotions every few weeks, such as “Google Adwords techniques” one week and “eBook resale rights uses” the next. A good URL tracker will show you that maybe 200 people clicked the link from the “Adwords” week and just 5 click “eBook resale rights uses”. Now we know what the problem is and how to address it; your Adwords campaign is a huge success and the other is garbage! By evaluating each and every inbound link, you know what places you should be advertising in and which places not to. You’ll save the much needed time and effort, and as a result, be much more productive in doing so.

Do the same when you’re posting in forums; you can track the links in your signature files. After all, it’s nice to converse with people in forums, but you don’t want to waste more time than you have to. Find out which forums give you the best results and stick to 2 or 3 of them.

If you want to find out where to get a good tracker, you can look for a free one online such as: Add Free Stats, Stat Counter, Google Analytics, and W3 Counter. For more advanced webmasters, Aweber, The Ultimte Affiliate Manager and Adtrakz are great.

The bottom line is that you must use every tool that makes you as efficient as possible, otherwise you’re wasting effort and exerting energy. When there are so many multitasking jobs to perform, URL trackers offer guidance on what to sell and where to advertise – both are key ingredients to a successful eBook resale right career.
