3D Floor Art Can Be A New Advertising Technique

by Mohamed Elmasry

3D floor art has grown to become something of a phenomenon in several areas around the world. In general local designers with a bit of time available are those responsible for the gorgeous 3D floor art that may be found. Presently there are lots of places online where pictures are generally taken of 3D floor art- they present dramatic shots of sharks showing up to arise from the sidewalks they are painted on; some show what appear to be deep canyons immediately in the pavement. Some 3D floor art renditions are so real that it takes actually touching them to understand that their secret is actually in the artist's skilled use of perspective and dimension.

3D floor art is usually drawn on with chalks and can take hours or even days. One of the greatest threats to 3D floor art, however, is the simple presence of rain. Rain can certainly destroy any fine 3D floor art drawing in just a matter of minutes. This is the floor artists greatest dilemma and it must be faced constantly if the work being performed is outside. This is why some artists prefer to do their work indoors. This, however, is often just not an option for the artist. After all, not many businesses would want their floors drawn or painted on. Therefore, many 3D floor art creations take place out of doors and in public areas. The upside is that this provides a good opportunity for the artist to show off the work to many admirers.

3D floor art has also taken shape in the way of advertising in public spaces. This phenomenon has seen action all around the world with artists creating advertisements for companies right on the sidewalks where people are walking. It is an ingenious method of modern advertising, and the costs are next-to-nothing. It requires just the artist's time to draw the advertisement on the ground and then the 'rent' is free. This is low cost advertising that is taking on a form of its own for local businesses looking to drive some more pedestrian traffic to their storefronts and/or events. Compared to some forms of advertising, this new 3D floor art is quite useful for local companies and more effective (per dollar spent) than many other ad mediums.

This new form of advertising using 3D floor art is just a distraction for a number of artists, however. Many artists who draw 3D floor art are doing it simply because they love it and want to make others happy—giving them a site to see. These 3D floor art drawings have been done for a century or so, but have gained additional popularity and attention thanks to the success of the internet and its ability to broadcast the pictures of the 3D floor art drawings. These drawings will hold a special place in the hearts of many and 3D floor art drawings are not likely to disappear any time soon. There are some who oppose the 3D floor art drawings if they feel like they get in the way of pedestrians trying to walk on sidewalks, but these are the few… most people adore a well-done 3D floor art creation.
