Understand Why Men Cheat

by Paul Ruffilio

Every guy will acknowledge that being unfaithful is just wrong. The odd thing is that men still do it. It's an acknowledged fact that girls cheat too. Nevertheless the numbers tell us that males are more prone to cheating than women.

The question of why men cheat is definitely an age-old puzzle that we most likely may solve now. A write-up published by a psychology website ascribes cheating to testosterone. Only 3% of all mammals are actually monogamous, according to the article, and humans aren't part of that small group. It seems that guys are destined to be unfaithful.

Infidelity could be hard to kick and some men have become addicted to cheating, says one popular health website. Destructive addictions can be cured when the patient is willing to stop. But unfaithfulness may be so addictive that men will not often be prepared to give it up.

Some men are fed up with the marriage and look at unfaithfulness as their way out of the marriage. You can say this even for a number of women too. Therefore infidelity is more of a warning sign instead of the root cause of the problem. Something could be carried out to make the married couples recall the feelings they had for each other when the union was brand new.

For many couples, infidelity is the wake-up call that tells them of how much they really love each other. Surprisingly more than half of all married couples that suffer from unfaithfulness will tend to stay with one another. More surprisingly, married couples who stay together despite the infidelity report being more content in comparison with those who opt to go their separate ways. Even individuals who remarried after the divorce are less happy compared to those who remained with their current partner.

Attraction towards the opposite sex is normal for both males and females. We're intelligent beings who do not just rely on our instincts or hormones in making decisions. We are able to control the dictates of hormones and do what we know to be right.

Some ask: "is it likely to save my marriage?" and the definite answer is 'absolutely!' A lot of couples have successfully fixed their marriages. It's not going to be an effortless journey for sure. But so long as both partners are willing to rebuild the marriage, it is possible. We are not mere animals who simply follow our instincts. We possess the ability to judge if something is proper or wrong.
