Your Pinterest Marketing Strategy - 7 Strategies That Work
Get the best results for your online business success with these critical tips and strategies for your Pinterest marketing.
Strategy #1: Optimize Your Profile
Your account's profile should have the following:
A great image that is YOU. It should either be a photo of you or a brand logo that your visitors will recognize. Make sure this same image is used on all of your other social media profiles (Twitter, Facebook Page, etc.).
Describe your business by including a short message with your keyword phrase. State who you are and why people should follow you. Again, you'll want your message to be consistent with your other profiles.
Include your website. Verify it. This way your website address is displayed for your Pinterest visitors to click through to your site.Include a link to your Twitter and Facebook accounts, which you can set up by going to your account settings and connecting with Twitter and Facebook.
Strategy #2: Optimize Your Pinterest Boards With Keywords
Create a board for each major keyword phrase you would like to rank on. For example, a fashion blogger may want to create boards for work outfit ideas, spring fashion style, winter outfit ideas and other types of beauty tips. This is a must for search engines to index you... and your visitors will appreciate your organized content.
Also... be sure to add keyword-specific descriptions for each board.
Strategy #3: Organize Your Boards
Make sure the first 5 boards are your primary boards. These are the boards your visitors will see first and will inform them about the content you are sharing.
Also... make sure you choose board covers that best reflect the contents of the board.
Strategy #4: Your Pins Should Be Focused On Your Target Market
When you write a blog post on your web site, you write content that is directed specifically to your target market... at least you should be. The same goes for your pins on Pinterest. Your pins should be for your target market. So, as much as you want to share photos of your dogs... keep the personal stuff to one board.
Strategy #5: Optimize Your Pins
Each of your pins should have an attention-grabbing image... a well written, keyword-specific description... and an embedded link that drives traffic to you web site.
Strategy #6: Monitor Who Is Pinning Images From Your Website
Use the following URL to see what people are pinning from your website: http://pinterest.com/source/yourdomain.com
From here, you may want to comment or like pins from your website and follow people who pin your content often to show your appreciation. This can also help you determine which images and content from your website do best on the Pinterest network.
Strategy #7: Measure and Track Your Pinterest Traffic
Use Google Analytics to see how much traffic you are receiving from Pinterest.
Use PinReach to get a comprehensive report on all of your Pinterest accounts activity.
Use Bitly.com to create links that help you track your links.
Don't lose site of the fact that you can pin anything. True, Pinterest started out as a creative way to share images... but as a business, you should be pinning each of your blog posts and articles.
