Increased Worldwide Registrations For Future Flights To The Edge Of Space

by Mitchell J Schultz

With the coming of commercial space travel that should begin sometime in 2012, companies like Virgin Galactic, XCOR and Space Adventures have acknowledged over 500 world-wide registrations. With costs ranging from $95,000 to $200,000 thrill seekers, adventurers and space enthusiasts from all over the globe have begun to discover this new amazing opportunity to travel to the edge of space and are starting to sign-up. Afetr a series of successful test flights in the summer of 2011 civilian space flights should begin sometime in 2012.

Even though there are other companies working on their space vehicles, the interest for space flight participation is focused mainly on Virgin Galactic, XCOR and Space Adventures. Furthermore, it appears that Virgin's Galactic's SpaceShipTwo and XCOR's Lynx maybe the only two space vehicles successfully tested and ready for commercial space flights by 2012. Both companies have plans for further testing in the summer of 2011, which upon success will open the doors for civilian space flights to begin.

All space vehicles will provide an exciting experience for their passengers as all participants will feel G-forces from the thrust of rockets, weightlessness and see fantastic views of Earth from the edge of space. To get all participants flight ready, each company has its own pre-flight training program. These programs will introduce the future space participant to many of the types of feelings that they will experience dut=ring their future space flight.

As the economic climate improves and more successful test flights from Virgin Galactic, XCOR, Space Adventures and others, prospective adventurers will overcome their concerns and hesitations of many who have been waiting on the sidelines and now taking action which should increase registrations steadily through the latter part of 2011.

Over time the space tourism industry will continue to expand and attract many additional international adventurers now ready and requesting information about registering for future suborbital space travel. The stories of extraordinary experiences that space participants will describe to their friends, family and co-workers will excite others to venture into space as well.

And all this can fuel an on going acceptance of space, leading to future developments...perhaps in coming years we will colonize the moon, Mars and beyond, begin asteroid mining and visiting orbital hotels as we get comfortable with.. and interest in space and space travel continues. The spark for human future development of space, additional business opportunities and distant space voyage explorations will greatly expand over the next 50 years as man's desire in the conquest of space moves forward.
