Advertising with T-Shirts

Advertising is the primary way a product or service is introduced to the public or in private with the hopes of making it sell. There are many different types of advertising that exist which include television, radio, newspaper, magazine, flyers, newsletters, brochures, banners, marquees, signs and yes, t-shirts.

Some of these methods can cost a large fortune. For example, commercials aired during the Superbowl football games are said to be cost the advertisers millions of dollars for a few seconds before an audience of multiplied millions of people who are watching. The proof in the power of advertising comes when these companies sometimes experience skyrocketed sales during the days, weeks and sometimes months after their commercials have aired.

In today’s economy, with so many companies experiencing challenges on their financial fronts, even some of the largest, most successful organizations who use advertising mediums are looking for cost effective ways to advertise their products. One of the best ways to creatively advertise is with t-shirts. Your advertisement gets the benefit of moving around wherever the person wearing it travels. When you consider the one time investment of purchasing customized t-shirts with your advertising campaign on the front or back or both, it’s worth every cent.

Obviously it takes strategic planning to make sure your t-shirts get into the right areas and are worn regularly. But it doesn’t take rocket science to know that the best places to advertise are those locations where people are gathered together for the purpose of shopping or other spending occasions such as hair salons and barber shops.

Advertising using a human moving target can have its down side. Tee shirts may not be worn as often as an advertiser desires or possibly not at all. A system to track the shirts may be too costly and too time consuming. Most people appreciate getting something for free but not everyone will want to wear your advertising more than one or two times.

Because the objective is to increase sales with people wearing your advertising to places, you may find it simpler to give the t-shirts away to people you know who will agree to wear your shirts to specific locations at least once or twice a week. This can increase the likelihood that your advertising campaign will get the attention it deserves.

Likewise, when special events come to town such as carnivals and festivals, these events are a great opportunity to have advertising t shirts mingling through the crowds, especially if your advertisement is for something that carnival goers or festival goers will want but don’t find at the event.

New companies looking to establish clientele as well as mature companies who want to expand their customer base or experience new growth can utilize advertising with t-shirts as a cost efficient way to reach the untapped local client market. Whether the advertised item is a new car wash in the neighborhood or an existing old fashioned bakery that has new baked goods to offer, this type of advertising can work very well for both.
