by Al Terry

For those football fans who like to see what the next generation in football powerhouses look like, Jacksonville Jaguars tickets will show you all you need to see. This relatively new team has already made an impression on the NFL and fans are just waiting to see when the Super Bowl will be won Jaguars style.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently part of the National Football League, with affiliations to the AFC South and the American Football Conference. The team plays their home games at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and has two divisional championships to its name. The Jaguars are yet to win any League titles.

A Town Looking For A Team

Jacksonville has had a long-standing reputation for being a great home for pro and college football. The city already hosts the Gator Bowl and the Georgia-Florida game and is seen as a good city for football. Jacksonville, however, did not have its own team and was desperately searching for one. They tried bringing the Baltimore Colts in a famous incident where thousands of citizens tried to win over the team owner, Robert Isray.

The town later tried to get the Houston Oilers, even going so far as to create a Jacksonville Oilers banner and a designated stadium section for home games. In 1991, the NFL decided to create two expansion teams and Jacksonville saw their chance. However, the odds were certainly against them. Apart from having a number of internal conflicts, there were already a number of popular NFL teams close by. After a lot of hard work and struggle, the town finally got their team in 1993.

Hitting The Ground Running

Jacksonville greeted its new team with overwhelming sales of Jacksonville Jaguars tickets and the team did not disappoint. The Jaguars made a strong start and almost immediately a number of players like Tony Boselli, Mark Brunell and James Stewart distinguished themselves as players to watch. The team started playing in 1995 and racked up a good season in 1996. The fans came out in droves and Jacksonville Jaguars tickets were becoming hard to find. The team continued to play great football and was not intimidated by teams like the Broncos and their rowdy fans.

While the Jacksonville Jaguars tickets kept selling and the team kept playing great football, expectations began to rise about NFL championships and a Super Bowl win. While the Jaguars managed to make playoffs and win a number of key games, the big wins seemed elusive to them. In 2006, the team began to really struggle as a string of injuries hit some of their best players. The Jaguars are looking to get back in gear soon and vie for some big league titles this year.

A relatively new team, the Jaguars already have their own Ring of Honor called the Pride of the Jaguars. So far, only Tony Boselli has been inducted with speculation that Jimmy Smith might be inducted soon. So if you are wondering what the next generation in football is up to, get yourself some Jacksonville Jaguars tickets. If you don't like waiting in line, you can always buy them through an authorized ticket vendor online.
